Eric Yves Garcia

From over the sleek black hood of a beat-up baby grand, a piano player in a bar is tossed crumpled bills and told where to steer one stranger after another. The hour gets late and thick. The room wavers, grows filmy from liquor and melody. Couples clump to each other, warmed up and hand-delivered to the mood they asked to inhabit.
‘Pour Spirits’ continues where that leaves off… where does the pianist wind up once he hits the street again, and the garish signs are winking off, one by one? He chases after stories. This show is a daring, unfiltered glimpse into those nights, those faces, those thrills, mistakes and near misses. These stories are offered without compromise. Best of all, they’re even true.
After critically lauded performances in New York, London and Paris, award-winning performer Eric Yves Garcia (Margaret Whiting Award; Bistro Award for Singing Instrumentalist) is armed with the songs of Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, the Avett Brothers, Billy Joel, Leonard Cohen, Ani DeFranco, Bob Dillon… as well as those of Jule Styne, Sinatra, Ellington and Nat King Cole… ‘Pour Spirits’ walks down those lean, up-to-no-good hours, when the world yawns itself awake, but that restless chase for something new goes on.
Directed by Lauren Fox, written by Eric Yves Garcia and joined by Peter Calo (guitar) and Ritt Henn (bass).

Eric Yves Garcia is a pianist, singer, and storyteller.  He was privileged to make his concert debut as a featured artist in The Mabel Mercer Foundation’s 45th Anniversary Celebration "Remembering Mabel and Bobby" at The Town Hall, of which Stephen Holden of The New York Times wrote "The evening’s brightest new discovery, Eric Yves Garcia, is a handsome young singer and pianist with genuine star quality."
His debut solo show "One Night Standards" received rave reviews in the NY Times and Wall Street Journal, and he’s gone on to perform it in venues and clubs around the US and Europe.
In NYC, you may have seen him at 54 Below, Bemelmans Bar, Birdland, The Carlyle Cafe at the Carlyle Hotel, Don’t Tell Mama, Firebird, Feinstein's at the Regency, The Iridium, Laurie Beechman Theatre, Metropolitan Room, Monkey Bar, The National Arts Club, The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, The Players Club, The Rum House, The St. Regis New York, Symphony Space, Urban Stages, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, York Theatre Company, and numerous others.
A graduate of Fordham University at Lincoln Center's theatre department, he is also an actor proud of his work in the independent feature films "Summertime", "Yesterday is Here", and "No Boundaries".  Eric is very happy to provide music at special events for the staff, patrons and families at The Ronald McDonald House of New York.
