E.S.P. plays real jazz but you don't need a GPS to listen to it.
E.S.P. is a tasteful, jazz group with a modern sound.
Their music has been described as "Yesterday's Bebop, meets Today's Modern Jazz." A combination of traditional jazz feel, great improvisation, fresh grooves and original compositions make E.S.P's sound part jazz, part groove, and part world music. And with the addition of the beautiful and talented vocalist, Kirsten Tegtmeyer, this performance will be a special treat, sure to engage and entertain the Metropolitan Room.
Their 2011 release called “Reach” was produced by GRAMMY award winning bassist Jimmy Haslip from The Yellowjackets, and features three tracks with legendary keyboardist Jeff Lorber. E.S.P. has opened for many big names in jazz like Spyrogyra, Chris Boti, The Rippingtons and Jeff Kashiwa’s Sax Pack. Also members of E.S.P. have backed jazz greats like New York Voices, Joey DeFrancisco and Martha Reeves.
