An energetic and entertaining evening of Jazz and Blues. John Minnock gained popularity as a successful singer in Boston, and is now a frequent performer at the Metropolitan Room. Combining great musicality and showmanship, John presents a lively evening of Jazz, Blues, Funk and R&B. “Like the best Irish coffee, Minnock’s voice is smooth and bold, with a good dose of Bushmills to give it a smoldering kick” (–Kevin Scott Hall, Bistro Awards Review). “…an impressive vocalist, obviously well trained in his chosen field of study” with “stellar chops”.
Rapidly building a large New York following, and with a voice that recalls B.B. King, Billy Eckstein, and George Benson, John often branches out to jazz improvisation and scat singing, with interesting facts and history about the songs. “Blues really seems to be his ace in the hole“; “one of the best versions of ‘On Broadway’ I’ve ever heard” (-Kevin Scott Hall, Bistro Awards Review).

With his trio, accomplished musicians from both Boston and New York, John is as at-ease with the complexities of music as he is with working with the band, with the audience, and everything involved in putting on a highly entertaining show. John is joined by his trio pianist Bill Duffy, bassist Carlos Mena, and drummer Pablo Eluchans.
John Minnock performed weekly at Boston’s Encore Lounge for two years, in one of the most successful jazz gigs in the Boston area. The show has been chosen as a “Featured Event” by the Boston Globe a number of times during its run. John also performed in the group “Feed the Meter”, and in performances at Acton Jazz Café.
