LOVE…The Concert starring David Vernon
In anticipation of the forthcoming album titled LOVE, witness the true and intimate story of a love triangle come full circle as told through the compositions of the world’s most sensitive love songs. Alex Leonard is Music Directing this concert and it will include material from my forthcoming album "LOVE". The LOVE album is a collection of favorite love songs rearranged and given a contemporary and cutting edge vibe. This concert at the Metropolitan Room will include many of these pieces in an acoustic and intimate setting. The album and concert are 2 thirds in the LOVE trilogy project that we're launching this year. The project will culminate to Beloved which is a musical theatre piece. I hope that you'll come along for the ride through our examination and expansion of LOVE.
"I was taken by Vernon's distinctive voice, If it were not such a cliché, I would say he casts a spell."- Roy Sander, Backstage
"He sings for all the lost souls who don't have an easy time fitting in and could well be their president. And maybe even their hero. "- Rob Lester, Talkin’ Broadway
"Vernon is a fascinating performer, definitely someone to keep an eye on"- Barbara and Scott Siegel,
"The Divine David Vernon ... WOW! This is a singer like no one else I have ever heard. He is just so totally "in" his music. To me he's "other worldly" and a very special talent. "
- Sue Matsuki, Stu Hamstra's Cabaret Hotline
Music Director Alex Leonard:  All Music Guide calls Alex Leonard, “an important mainstay of the Big Apple” and Show Business writes, “superb piano playing… a class act”. Recently featured in the 25th Annual Cabaret Convention at Lincoln Center he has been featured in venues from Manhattan to Europe and Japan.  A two time MAC Award nominee he has performed in the Cabaret Series at the National Arts Club hosted by Donald Smith. He has been a featured guest on many programs including Bloomberg Radio’s The Business of Show Business.

David Vernon is a "natural talent" and his interpretations and delivery of song come from the center of his soul. Born in the Midwest but living on the east coast David Vernon has always followed his own direction. He has created and produced many of his own conceptual concerts and has been given rise to lauded performances at The Algonquin Hotel, Birdland, Don’t Tell Mama, the Laurie Beechman Theater and many other swell spots in New York City. Whether performing pop,art songs, showtunes, jazz or the great American songbook David embodies a genre of musical interpretation and casts his spell on a wide diversity of listeners. Called “other worldly” by his critics, David has produced an extensive recording collection and he holds a keen sense of focus and deliberation in his work.David has been featured in theatre, clubs and on Radio and Television. But to truly capture his full essence one must experience him live. David pays close attention to the integrity and meaning of a song and weaves a spell through each piece he approaches.
David has appeared at clubs in NYC over the last 10 years. His performances have been lauded at Iguana NYC, Don't Tell Mama's, The Vesta Lounge and The Laurie Beechman Theater.
David's performances have been described as magical experiences. From the time David hits his first note the audience knows this is something special. His attention to detail in both material and staging is impeccable. There is only one word to describe David Vernon "Incomparable". Once you've seen David in person you will agree.
