Florencia Cuenca & Jaime Lozano

In the past, the jazz repertoire was nurtured by musical theatre shows. From the 20’s to the 40’s composers like George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, among others contributed with some of the most popular jazz standards, being played and performed by million of singers and musicians around the world creating all kind of versions and arrangements.

Based on this, Mexican musical theatre composer and arranger, Jaime Lozano, joins musical theatre and jazz singer Florencia Cuenca and together they take songs from contemporary musical theatre shows from the 60’s to the present making their jazz versions, creating what they have called “The New Standards”.
