Bravo Musical Directors

We have compiled a list of our Musical Directors that have worked at Metropolitan Room and other Cabaret venues around NYC and we'll be taking this opportunity to thank them.  Some will speak, some will play, some will just attend.  Below is a list of those that have committed to attending as well as those that have been invited and attendance:

It’ll be a symphony orchestra of music directors… They’re the Svengalis, the coaches, and enablers of all the stars in our cabaret firmament.  And for one night only at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, an unprecedented collection of maestros will take center stage in a love-fest we feel is long overdue.  “Bravo Music Directors” occurs on Sunday June 14 at 6pm.
“We’re all keyed up,” says the Metropolitan Room’s placid owner Bernie Furshpan, who hosts the evening.  “Without these the musicians, a good many of the singers we love and admire would fall flat!”
Appearing to either speak, play, or simply bask in the glow of gratitude of their peers are these incredible MDs:
Though the lion’s share of these musicians play piano, many serve as music directors playing other instruments.  Nearly all write their own arrangements.  Observes Furshpan: “It takes all kinds and this show will present all kinds!”  Some of the featured MDs pursue solo careers in addition to playing for others.  Many are songwriters; many are singers; some work on Broadway, while others tour with orchestras or major headliners around the country.  “Every single one of them is loved for working closely with singers and helping them be the best they can be,” Furshpan adds.
