After wowing the audience at her sold-out premiere in November, actress and singer Ann Kittredge returns to the legendary Metropolitan Room for two more performances this spring with her show Ann Kittredge: It’s About Time. The show—a unique storytelling journey, featuring many of Kittredge’s musical theatre favorites—is the cabaret debut for both Ann and her Musical Director and Broadway veteran, Wendy Bobbitt Cavett. The duo has put together a remarkable representation of songs from the musical theatre repertoire that spans the years, emphasizing the unique, the unknown, and the story-telling dramatic nature that Ann loves to express.  Ann and Wendy are also thrilled to welcome bassist Mary Ann McSweeney to join them at these performances.
Leave with a smile or a conversation, or transport to another place; laugh, cry, heckle (well, maybe not?), just join Ann in writing this chapter of her life.  She looks forward to sharing it with you.
About Ann Kittredge
Ann’s husband claims that he has been married to at least three different women, but they are all Ann.  Who knows how many Ann’s will show up at the Metropolitan Room, but one thing is for sure: Ann answers to the beat of her own drum (and, if relevant, the orchestra’s drum).  Whether the song evokes lunacy, love, longing, curiosity, challenge or deep awakening, Ann’s greatest passion is interpreting its nuance, or lighting up an audience’s face with recognition of a shared experience.
Ann has enjoyed a wonderfully varied career: Broadway, off Broadway, workshops of new shows (oh, sooooo many!), regional theatre, the traditional NYC TV guest spots, independent film, mom, youth theater director and coach, inter-generational choir.  All punctuated by amazing collaborations with outrageously talented individuals like Ted Sperling, Wendy Bobbitt Cavett, Larry Carpenter, Kerri Elias, Mel Shapiro, Susan Stroman, BT McNicholl, Jack Going, Michael Ockrent, Steven Flaherty, Lynn Ahrens, Kathleen Marshall, Chuck Morey, John Rando, Martin Platt, Walter Bobbie, Paul Gemignani, Rob Marshall, Alan Menken, Steven Lutvak, the incomparable playwright Horton Foote, and  all her fellow cast members and students through the years. They’ve provided the memories of a lifetime and the impetus and material for her return to the stage --  Ann Kittredge: It’s About Time.
It’s about time because through it all nothing has ever fulfilled Ann more than storytelling, and it’s been too long since she stepped away from the stage to raise her children.  It’s about time for her to explore the art form of cabaret as a solo artist, it’s about time some of the music she has selected be shared with an audience, it’s about time her children experienced her passion and dedication to something she loves (other than them).  Thanks to the support of so many old friends, there’s another Ann a-coming (wife #4?), and on her own terms.
