This is the theme of Joan Minor’s Coast to Coast American Tour which starts in April.
It’s been two years since this versatile American song stylist, who currently resides in Paris, graced the fabulous Metropolitan Room stage. This time when she returns, she’s bringing her amazing French Trio. Can you say the words “THEY BAD!”??
Get ready. They’ll definitely be ‘bringing it’---hot, soulful, sassy jazz, guaranteed to please.
You don’t want to miss this show!
Comments on Joan’s world-wide performances:
“…totally ‘at home’ on stage with her trademark ‘megawatt’ smile, personal warmth and mesmerizing vocal mastery…”
“…Energy personified, her shows are ‘live and riveting’ from the first note…”
“Joan is one of that select group of singers whose lyrical interpretation oozes sensitivity and feeling. She connects with audiences on a gut-level.”
Regarding her CD ‘Integrity Matters’:
“…If you like light jazz with a good feel of tunes that we used to hear by the masters, you should hear this!” B.B. King
Joan is a world-class entertainer who has performed broadly across America, in many countries in Africa, the UK, and across Europe including France, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Sweden, and Russia to name a few.
In addition to widespread concert engagements, Joan is a cultural ambassador for Jazz, conducting multiple tours on behalf of the State Department of the United States, performing concerts for high level dignitaries, including the current President of Gabon.
Joan is formally trained in voice and piano and has deeply studied the Jazz masters, having broadened her Jazz expression under the tutelage of such notables as Patti Cathcart (Tuck and Patti), New York Broadway artist June Smith and the legendary Barry Harris. Her televised work includes the BBC documentary “Destination Music: Zanzibar” and “A Jazz Tribute to George Gershwin” introduced by Michael Feinstein.
The Joan Minor Quartet
Her latest project is the Joan Minor Quartet, which unites her American style with a talented group of French musicians. The resulting musicality of this collaboration is infectious and creates a mélange, whose multi-faceted repertoire has enthralled audiences in Europe and Africa these last 4 years. The group has lit up the Paris scene and rejuvenated its historical musical heart in the district known as Menilmontant, and other prestigious “City of Light” venues.
If you could change the famous tune entitled ‘April In Paris’ to ‘April FROM Paris’ then you’d begin to get the picture. This incredible artist and her trio will make you experience the joy of a Paris Spring!
