Hailed by the New York Times as ‘a robust baritone’, and graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, Jonathan Estabrooks continues to leave his mark as unique and rich contributor to the performing arts world. His vocalism and performance style have been called “commanding, rich, fresh and energetic” – NY Times, with his stage presence likened to that of a young Ron Howard. on the Concert, Opera and Musical Theatre stage.
 
The 2015/16 began with a whirlwind production and last minute replacements as Houston Oilers football coach, Bum Phillips in Bum Phillips All-American Opera at the Stafford Center. Upcoming engagements include the world premiere of Rooms of Light, a hybrid Jazz/Musical theatre song cycle by famed Jazz composer Fred Hersch and Mary Jo Salter which runs October 14-18th with Peak Performances in Montclair, NJ. He travels to Ottawa, Canada as the baritone soloist at the National Arts Centre with the Ottawa Singers and OSO in Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio, followed by holiday concerts at the Caramoor Center for the Arts. March finds him in Los Angeles at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts with pianist/conductor Rob Kapilow for his concert/lecture series, What Makes it Great, followed by a guest appearance with the Ewashko Singers as soloist in Bach Cantata No 131, a benefit concert for Ottawa Montessori School in his home town.
 
The 2014/15 season included multiple engagements with conductor Steven Reineke featuring the music of Rodgers & Hammerstein and Lerner and Loewe, returning to Roy Thomson Hall with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and debuting with both the Vancouver Symphony and Seattle Symphony. He made his Kennedy Center debut as Tasio in Noli Me Tangere and the role of Le Podestat in Dr. Miracle with the Canadian International Vocal Arts Institute, followed by the role of Belcore in Elisir d’amore with New Rochelle Opera and baritone soloist in The Brahms Requiem at St. Agnes Cathedral, New York. Future engagements include baritone soloist in Paul McCarney’s Liverpool Oratorio.
 
The 2013/14 season saw multiple debuts including at Carnegie Hall with the Oratorio Society of New York in Paul Moravec’s Blizzard Voices, Broadway and Beyond with Lyric Opera Virginia and Some Enchanted Evening with the Toronto Symphony alongside Broadway stars Ashley Brown and Aaron Lazar. He appeared as The Baron in La Traviata with Opera Lyra Ottawa, created the role of Alan Turning with American Lyric Theatre in The Turing Project and returned for performance at the Caramoor Center for the Arts.
 
Discovered this year by 5-time Grammy Award winning producer Dave Reitzas (Groban, Streisand, Buble), he joined forces with 4-time Grammy Winning producer Dave Reitzas and Broadway orchestrator Oran Eldor, traveling to the famed Westlake Studios in Hollywood to record his debut classical-crossover album ‘These Miles’ with the Macedonia Radio Orchestra, available on iTUNES, Amazon and here. Fusing elements of classical, pop and classic musical theatre, the record is a stunning and energetic debut LP, fusing his many musical loves with unforgettable melodies and the lushness of the Macedonia Radio Orchestra. Collaborations include Simon Cowell discovery and tenor Jonathan Antoine and New Age classical pianist and composer Jennifer Thomas.
 
Mr. Estabrooks has appeared in recital, concert and opera in Canada, the United States and abroad. His impressive vocal delivery has taken him around the world, in Opera and concert performances and to venues such as Stern Auditorium-Carnegie Hall and performances with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Israeli Chamber Orchestra and alongside Broadway stars Ashley Brown, Aaron Lazar and Kelli O’Hara. His performances have also been broadcast throughout Canada on CBC Television and he has performances for the Governor General, The Prime Minister of Canada, the US Ambassador to Canada, The Italian Ambassador to Canada and President Bill Clinton.
