I Did It My Way in Yiddish (in English)

Deb Filler’s wonderful new show takes us on a musical journey around the world. New Zealand’s only Jewish comic will entertain you with an evening of stories and songs you’ll never ever forget. Meet musical legends Leonard Cohen and Leonard Bernstein, amongst others. Recently commissioned by JW3 in London, this acclaimed one-woman tour-de-force takes us on a truly incredible ride with Leonard Cohen, reducing the folksinger to tears of laughter and brings Leonard Bernstein a fresh challah bread from her survivor father’s bakery. What happens is extraordinary.

Recently featured in The Last Laugh alongside comedy legends Mel Brooks and Sarah Silverman, the Toronto Yiddish production of Death of A Salesman, in Talking Heads, with Fiona Reid at Campbell House in Toronto and in the new TV series CHUMS in the U.S., Deb Filler is an internationally acclaimed theatre, character, comic and musical artist. I Did It My Way In Yiddish (in English) toured London, Australia, Jerusalem and L.A. in 2016. Solo shows include ‘I Lost It in Kiev’, ‘Filler Up’ and ‘Punch Me in the Stomach’ (off Broadway and off West End.) Deb has worked at Lookingglass Theatre Company (Chicago) Sydney’s Belvoir Street Theatre (Company B), New York Theatre Workshop, Buddies in Bad Times, Toronto and many other theatres. A long time guest teacher in the theatre department at Brown University, Humber College’s program for comedy writers, New Zealand’s The Actor’s Program, and Toi Whakaari National Drama School, she also coaches, mentors and leads storytelling and humour workshops across the world.

Deb will always be the voice of the Peg Bundy doll.
