International and multifaceted pianist, singer and composer Frédérique Trunk is flying from France (via Barcelona, Spain)…, to join with 2012 Bistro Award winner Jean Brassard as they toast Manhattan with a cocktail of French chansons, some classics by the likes of Brel, Aznavour, Legrand, Montand,Poulenc and Nougaro and some lesser known pieces just as romantic or humorous, even theatrical! The whole evening sprinkled of course with a zest of jazz. Forth is musical moment you’ll be transported from 22nd Street to theRiviera!

Jean: A New Yorker since1982, Quebec singer-actor Jean Brassard is a 2012 Bistro Award winner. His career-building combines stage,television, film and voice over. Choice TV Credits: 30 Rock, HBO’s John Adams; Film: Ten Stories Tall opposite Emily Skinner and The Pill, recently released to critical acclaim. For five years, Jean entertained as comment at or for the World Wrestling Federation.

 Jean has partnered onstage with Steve Ross (recently: French Lessons en chansons), K.T.Sullivan and Kathleen Landis. With Bob Cuccioli, Ereni Sevasti, Natascia Diaz and Karen Kohler, he performed “Jacques Brel Returns” 2010-2011. With Frederique, he is a member of Kohler's Kabarett Kollektif. Jean was nominated Best Male Vocalist Debut for a 2007 MAC Award. Co-written with director David Krueger, “The Kid from Paris – Jean Brassard Sings Yves Montand” has traveled through Canada, France and Belgium; received the 2012 Bistro Award for Outstanding Tribute and an AGGIE Award.

Frederique: As a soloist and band leader, FrédériqueTrunk has toured in Europe, Morocco, Japan, the United States and Canada.In 1996, she formed the quintet, Myriade, mixing in original compositions jazz and Middle-Eastern music concepts of improvisation. Myriade’s album, Soukoun,was released in the spring of 2001. Continuously developing her own voice, she founded in 1998, Frédérique's Trio to present a completely new blend of jazz standards and French songs. She completed her first trio album Secret Love inDecember 1999 and her second CD “Paris- New York …and Elsewhere” was released in March 2006.

Frédérique has also been composing works for small ensembles and orchestra, and completed a piano solo film score. In 2006 she moved to Barcelona (Spain) where she created a new ethnic jazz group Resonessence and collaborated with tap dancer Roxane Butterfly in Italy, Spain and New York. Now back in France (Toulouse) she shares her time performing between Europe and NewYork.
