Amy Gruszewski grew up in Minneapolis, MN, and holds a Bachelor of Music in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In NYC almost a decade now, her musical style is ultimately diverse, best described as a fresh new sound steeped in the traditions of classical and jazz. Raised on piano since the age of 5, she is an R&B/ jazz vocalist who loves the blues and hip-hop, as well as, a choir director, composer and songwriter embracing all musical genres. She coaches and instructs countless other budding musicians and performers in piano, voice and guitar. An entertainer all her life, she hosted her own Open Mic Showcase that was a hit for over 5 years, developed unique interpretations of the great American Songbook repertoire in her work with the elderly, and has been Music Director and arranger for various stage productions and scenarios. Love of all things music is what drives her and inspires those she works with, and is what will be shared with you in this afternoon to remember.
