Whether you’ve played at our iconic room or not, we’ve looked at your bio and/or video and want you to consider doing a one-night show. If we're both happy with the results, we'll do it again.. and perhaps more.
ZAGAT RECENTLY POSTED THAT METROPOLITAN ROOM IS THE BEST CABARET SPOT IN NYC - “This Flatiron "class act" aims to revive the "golden age of cabaret" as "up-and-coming stars" and "renowned performers" alike take the stage in an "intimate" room with "great acoustics"; run with "professionalism" by a "gracious staff", it's "worth every penny" for a "sophisticated" night out.”. - ZAGAT 2014

We also promote the club for all shows in general through Internet, Social Network Sites, Radio, Publications, Email Newsletters, Mass Media Bulletins. Each performer is responsible for promoting their own show and we expect at least 50 guests from them. We prefer to book local artists with a strong following and aggressive marketing strategy. Non-local performers have a difficult time drawing an audience and both parties suffer as a result. Unless you have a strong following that will definitely come to see you, please keep this in mind.

Because our goal is to provide our patronage with some of the finest shows in NYC, our standards are relatively high and it behooves us to review all performer inquiries. Therefore, we’d love to see a video clip and get an idea of what type of show you’d like to produce at our club. We are seeking professional performers who have had at least 5 years in the business, based in the NYC area, who have played rooms and halls in the past, who can easily draw 50 or more patrons and willing to charge at least a $24 cover. The performers who succeed in filling the house, have a great Social Media Presence; a Large Email List; Make Phone Calls; Collaborate with other Performers who they bring up as guests.
Handicap Accessible: One of the features that you might find as an incentive is that Metropolitan Room is on the ground floor and we have a Handicap Accessible bathroom.
