Description: Vocalist Lynn Stein and Master guitarist John Hart perform duo with sparking rich clarity and a deep musicality respectful of the great American songbook, not a wasted note.
John Hart is a New York fixture for 30 years, John has distinguished himself not only as a band leader with 8 CDs including releases on prestigious labels Blue Note and Concord but also as first call sideman to the stars. His resume includes associations with jazz greats from earlier generations and cutting edge contemporary artists. He may be best know for a 16 year tenure with organist Jack McDuff, a gig which was a proving ground for many of the great jazz guitar innovators.
John's versatility is apparent when you look at some of his other associations. He has played in bands led by Brian Blade, Chris Potter, Larry Goldings, Bob Belden, Rick Margitza, Javon Jackson and has played with the Maria Schneider Orchestra for the last 20 years. A prolific recording artist, John has appeared on 100 plus CDs as a sideman.
Lynn Stein most recently collaborated with bassist Jon Burr performing as Jon & Lynn .
Together they performed at The Iridium, Birdland, Fiensteins, The NJersey Jazz Festival, The Chautauqua Jazz Festival , the metroplitian Room and Live on the Jonathan Schwarz Xmas show 2011. Past CD’s include JON and LYNN, and Softly . She is thrilled to releasing her next CD on RANDOM ACTS RECORD in early 2013 with the great warren Vache, Harry Allen, Alvester Garnett, Matt Ray, John Hart and Jon Burr ,witharrangement by Jon Burr .Lynn has also performed at the Nassau Art Center, The Wine Bar CT and The EDWARD HOUSE jazz series. Lynn Stein and John Hart have been performed together for over a decade. They look forward to sharing their musical hook up.
