Marissa Mulder, winner of the 2011 MetroStar Challenge, brings the highly anticipated show she was awarded as her prize to the Metropolitan Room. The show, called "Illusions," explores fantasy, imagination and dreams through song. From high expectations and hopes to the realities of faded love, loss and all of the beauty, humor and disillusionment along the way. "Illusions" is directed by the multi-award winning vocalist Karen Oberlin with musical direction by Bill Zeffiro. Mulder will also be joined by John Loehrke on the bass and Pete Anderson (of the famed Anderson Twins) on saxophone. She will be singing the music of such composers as Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer, Mickey Leonard and many more.

From the press...
"Constantly entertaining and electric, embracing the music and the words, (Marissa Mulder) hits the right notes in both senses of the word. Her joi de vivre is infectious... and when she closes she seems to be flying high. So was I." - Rob Lester, Nightlife Exchange
"Marissa Mulder possesses an extraordinary vocal instrument and a talent for phrasing which made you think you were hearing standards for the first time... Superb!" Joe Regan Jr., TimesSquareChronicles.com
"I determine how good a show is by three main characteristics: did the show keep the audience (and me) enthralled? Did I learn, see or hear something new from the show? Will I want to see her perform again (in this show or a new show)? My resounding answer is "definitely"! FOUR BRAVAS!" -- Stu Hamstra, Cabaret Hotline Online
