Pamela Lewis’ (a.k.a .Champagne Pam) show DADDY’S LITTLE GIRL earned her the 2013 BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Award for “Best Female Vocalist.” The smooth, sassy vocalist from Long Island Pamela has truly become one of the rising female stars of New York cabaret.
Now she is back with her new show that she’s been dreaming about since she was a young girl growing up in Floral Park, Long Island, where she treasured the music of fellow Long Island native Billy Joel. NEW YORK STATE OF MIND: THE SONGS OF BILLY JOEL is Pamela Lewis' stunning interpretation of what she describes as “The soundtrack of her life”--selections from the iconic Billy Joel repertoire.
Lewis' show is directed by well-known British cabaret star Barb Jungr (renowned for her unique vocal style, interpretation of song and radical approach to arrangements). With Musical Director Bill Heller on piano, Lewis’ husband John Hurley on guitar, bass player Ritt Henn, and Marcus Parsley on trumpet, you’ll hear Pamela transform the classic songs of Billy Joel into a sound all her own.
NEW YORK STATE OF MIND will present Pamela just the way she is . . . a cool chick who is extroverted and accessible, and who can stand out among the women in this industry and also be “one of the guys.” Lewis is a singer who conveys an on-stage confidence and down-to-earth personality through her smooth, sensual vocals.
Of her Award-winning show, Daddy's Little Girl, reviewer Stephen Hanks wrote: “Champagne Pam's show has body, heart, spirit and soul . . . it was everything an entertaining cabaret show should be--warm, funny, intimate, engaging, well-structured, and occasionally surprising--and performed by a confident entertainer and sultry singer who is totally comfortable in front of an audience and in her own skin.”
