JAZZ SINGER/SONGWRITER ABIGAIL ROCKWELL
GRANDDAUGHTER OF BELOVED AMERICAN ILLUSTRATOR NORMAN ROCKWELL
CONTINUES HER NYC CABARET DEBUT

“BRING IN THE SPRING!”
DIRECTED BY BILL CASTELLINO
MUSICAL DIRECTION BY SEAN HARKNESS

Jazz singer/songwriter Abigail Rockwell, granddaughter of beloved American illustrator Norman Rockwell, will continue her New York cabaret debut on Thursday, September 3rd at 7 pm at the Metropolitan Room in “Bring In The Spring!”.  Her first show was in late April and now she returns this fall with two more shows.  Ms. Rockwell will take the stage to share her songs – an eclectic mix of standards and original compositions – and her story after a long battle for truth contending with the recent fraudulent biography of her grandfather.  Sean Harkness, her musical director, will accompany her on guitar.  The show is directed by Bill Castellino.
“I accepted Metropolitan Room’s gracious offer to do a show, but I knew I couldn’t just sing my torch and swing music as usual without acknowledging what it’s been like to journey through this controversy,” Ms. Rockwell promises, “It’s time to leave scandal behind – a bit of sauce, the fight for truth, bring on the fun!”

Abigail Rockwell is a torch & swing singer/songwriter.  She has been deeply influenced by the jazz singers of the past – Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald; as well as Fado and Brazilian singers like Elis Regina and Amalia Rodrigues.  She trains with Gary Catona, the renowned voice coach in Los Angeles.  Abigail co-produced her debut CD, Union Station, with Bill Brendle, the pianist/arranger/composer who has worked with many artists, including Sergio Mendes, Lamont Dozier and Erykah Badu.  Her CD was mixed by Grammy award-winning Mauricio Guerrero and mastered at Capitol Records by Ron McMaster.
